The Thomson's Goege Road.
TO THE EDITOJt. Sib, — In my letter re the ,above which appeared in your issue of the 15th,' I inadver^ tently omitted to include the Wanaka witßi the Hawea and Tarras districts. I regret this* the more, as the settlers of the Wanaka ay& handicapped by an extra 20 miles in distance.. The well-known scenic beauties of the Wanaka district would no doubt be visited by moro tourists if the road mentioned was constructed, as it would not only shorten the distance greatly, but would traverse a wild mountain pass from the summit of which a magnificent view of the valleys of the Clutha and the Hawea and Wanaka lakes can be seen. Trusting that my Wanaka friends will believe that the non-inclusion of them in my letter was an error of omission and not of commission^ — t am, etc., A Tabeas Settles. Tarras, September 21 .
