Mr Millar to-day asked the Premier what number of transfers of unclaimed lands had teen registered during the past three years, and what solicitors, or firm of solicitors, had applied for the same respectively? In the course of the reply to this question it was agreed that Mr Millar should ask for a return and that the Premier should then see what could be done in the matter. " Mr Joyce asked the Premier what steps, if any, had been taken by tho Government to establish a Royal Humane Society for the colony? Has the Imperial Government been approached, and, if so, with what result? The Premier said that the stepg taken in Australia should bo followed in New Zealand, and when things were ready for his doing so he would approach the Secretary of State for the colonies on the subject. Mr Smith asked the Government whether they were aware that some of tho graves in the Wellington Cemetery of soldiers lolled in the Maori troubles were now in a neglected condition, and will tho Government take steps to hare the same kept in order? The Minister for Lands said that full inquiries would be made, and if it were found that the graves were out of condition steps would be taken to place them in a proper condition.
