Kirk and Co., Boad street, i >i Dunedin, report for week ending 23rd ' August : — ■j- Rabbitskins. — Prices were on the whole 1 fully maintained at the sales on Monday, s winters especially meeting with keen compe- :" tition, but, on the other hand, inferior skins * were selling a shade below last week's quotations. We are paying for mixed '> winters 16d to 17jVd, selected does * up to 18-jsd, and seconds 1%1 to 14Jd (net cash;. We would lemind our country friends that it is to their advantage to see that skins are thoroughly dried before ' sending them into town, as by bagging them j up while damp deterioration commences at once, and by the time they reach us their value is considerably lessened. Sheepskins. — The market remains firm a> 3 about last week's prices. Fins crossbreds ? and merinos are in special request. Hides. — "We can take any quantity of these 1 at highest current rates. j
