WAITAHUNA.

' August 22. — A football match Waitnhuna v. Lawrence was played on Wednesday last, resulting in a win for Lawrence. A novel match in winch some interest centres is to be played next Saturday, the teams being the Waitahuna Juvenile and" Waitahuna Senior Clubs.

Debating Society. — This society is still in existence, and is at present in prominent notice. The last meeting was an open night, the entertainment being announced as consisting of a concert and debate. The subject of the debate ■was '" Should Bachelors, be Taxed?" The concert did not come off, but the debate did, the principal feature of it being the airing of some novel and original views on the matrimonial question.
