A big trotting match apainst time took placo at Blackpool, England, on June 27, vagcr of i^OQ to £200 being laid that J. Andrews, of Ashton-under-Lyne, could not drive 60 miles in three hours with the aid of three horses. The hordes that Andrews relied upon were Good Friday, Phyllis Wilkes, and Ella Maclcay, all noted stayers. The first 21 miles were accomplished in 61min SOsec, each horse having been driven about 'e\ en miles.
