THE DIRECT STEAMERS.

The S.S. and A. Co.'s Maori, from London June 9, left Capetown on Wednesday afternoon for Lyttelton, via Hobart. The s.s. Gothic sailed from London for New Zealand on August 9.

The Duke of Portland, from Port Chalmers, July 19, arrived at Monte Video on the 9th inst.

Fiom the telegraph board we learn that the Rimutaka, from London, via, Hobart, arrived at "Wellington shortly after noon on Sunday. HO-bART, August 9.— The Rimutaka, from tho Cape, arrived here at 10 o'clock this morning.
