THE MATCH AT WANGANUI

The match Canterbury v. Wanganui was played on the 10tli._ The weather was all rtiat could be desired and the attendance large. A good same resulted in a win for the visitors by 14- points to 6. The Canterbury men, contrary to local expectations, proved too good for the Wanganui representatives in all departments, although on the whole the play was not so uneven as the scores might indicate. For the visitors Dansey, Orr, Cowper, and Phillips secured tries, the last of which was converted by Martin. For Wanganui the scorers were Montgomery and Steclman. The match was played in the best of good humour, although from start to finish the play was very much on the swift side.
