DUNEDIN'S NEW DATES.
The Dunedin Jockey Club's resolve to hold Its Spring meeting in October and to use tho Christmas holidays for another meeting is a development that the public were, I think, fcardly prepared for. Tbe determination <o race at Christ mas is a step which I have advotaled, and it teems to me plain that it is a wise tnovo in the interests of the club. As to tbe October meeting, I bad not given that adaa consideration, but there is no reason -that 1 can think of wby it should not answer. jn previous years we have srono on in Canterbury's wake,' taking all her " wash." By pulling Hie dato in front of the Now Zealand Cup fixture Dunedin will at least save past, trouble? and have a chance to get a few liovses thai are fresh and veally wanting a gallop.
