THE GORE RACING CLUB.
This club held its annual meeting last week, Mr T. Green presiding. The balance sheet; showed a profit of £42 5s 2d, after spending over £100 on repairs and improvements. Tho chairman congratulated the members on tba prosperity of the club, despite the bad weathes they had at their last two meetings, the assotd of the club being fully £500 over liabilities, and the buildings and course being in capital order. No expenditure would be needed for the forthcoming season, excepting ordinary repairs. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr T. Green; vice-presidents, Messrs A. J. Gibbs and D. L. Popplewell? treasurer, Mr R. F. Wallis; committee — ■ Messrs J. J. Green, J. H. Dolomore, W. Lutham, G. Dempster, I. A. Simson, W. F. Ward*, J. H. Neavo, T. Kett, T. Grieve, and J. A . Pope. Mr J. Grindley referred in feeling terms to the death of Mr G. M. Bell, and the loss racing matters had sustained through that event. On the motion of the Chairmen a; letter of condolence was ordered to bo sent to Mrs Bell. The question of procuring starting machines was mooted, but the proposal kdl to no result. A meeting of the newly-eleotecl committee was afterwards held, when the fcl» lowing appointments were made for the in,' coming season : — Judge, Mr T. Green ; starter, Mr F. Wallis; handicapper, Mr A. J. Gibbs | timekeeper, Mr I. A. Simson; clerk oi scales, Mr G. Dempster; clerk of the course,, Mr J. Green ; clerks of totalisator, Messrß D* L. Popplowell and J. H. Dolomore. A subcommittee was appointed to draw up a pro* gramme for a Spring and Summer meeting^ stakes not to exceed £850.
