Fat Cattle.— A full market, 255 being penned. This, coupled with the fact that several of the butchers had bought supplies in the country, caused a decline m values, and prices, as compared with last week, show a drop of 15s to 20a per head. Prime bullocks sold at £8 10s to £10. extra prime up to £11; good bullocks, £1 to £8 ; medium, £5 10s tc £6 10s ; light, £3 10a to £5; good cows and heifers, £6 to £7; medium, £4 10s to £5 10s; light, £2 10s to £4. We yarded 30 head, and sold: For Messrs Carmichael Bros. (Riverside, Outram), 1 splendidt bullock at £11 (top price for the day, Mr W. W. Duke, or George stiect, being the purchaser), 7 primo bullocks at £7 2s 6d to £9 12s 6d, and 1 prime cow at £6 17s 6d; Mrs Miller (Maungatua), 4 bullocks at £8 2s 6d to £8 10s, and 2 cows at tip to £6 2s 6d; a southern client, 7 steers and heifers at £6 10s to £4 17s 6d ; Messrs Sutherland, Campbell, Townley, and others, 6 head at quotations. 4 Fat Sheep. — 2972 penned. This number on top of the full market of last week proved moro than the requirements of the trade, and a verg; diaggiug sale was the result. Prices may be quoted at about Is below those current last week Prime crossbred wethers sold at 13s to 355; extra prime up to 16s Cd; medium wethers, lla to 12s 6d; light, 8s to 10s; prime crossbred ewes sold at lls 6d to 12s 6d; goot? ditto, 10s to lls; light, 6s 6d to 9s. We yarded 352, and sold: For a southern client, 40 primo. crofosbred ewes at 12s; Mr G, Nitnrao (The Grange), 62 crossbred wethers and maiden ewea 12s 6d to lls 6d; Mr Parker (Stirling), 63 crossbred ewes (small) tc 10s; Mr John Law,, ]'un. (Eweburn), 70 crossbred wethers and maide.'i ewes to 10s; a client, 77 crossbred wethera at lls 3d.

Fat Lambs.— Only 120 penned, which sold afe quotations. pig 3 . — ioo penned, and sold as follows:— • Suckers, 7s to lls Gd ; slips, 13s 6d to 17s 66! j stores, 18s to 245 ; porkers, 27s to 36s 6d ; lighfi baccrers, 38s to 44s 6d. No heavy pigs in. Thero was keen competition for all porkers and baconers, and extreme rates were obtained. We could place a large number at the present time at high prices. Our entry consisted of 77,whichJ we sold at quotations.

Sheepskins.— There was strong competition' from a full attendance of buyers at Tuesday'a sale, when prices for crossbreda and halfbreda were fully up to those ruling last week, whilq merinos were a shade dearer. Wo quoted Cropsbred (half to full-woolled), from 3a to 5a 6d- crossbred (quarter to full-woolled), Is 6d tq 3s; crossbred pelts and small, 5d to Is Gdi merinos (half to full-woolled), 2s 6d to 4s 6di quarter to half do, Is 3d to 2s sd ; do pelts, 2cl to 8d; green ciossbr°<K 3s to 4s each. Hides. — There is no change to report. &.U coming forward are saleable at satisfactory prices. Wo quote: Prime heavy ox, 3£d to Bid; extra prime up to 4d; medium, 2£d to 8d; light and inferior, IJd to 2Jd per lb. Wheat. — The market still remains lifeless, gaiillers not operating. There is a fair demand for chick wheat at last week's prices. We quote nominally: Prime Tuscan and red sorts, 4s 4d to 4s 6d; prime velvet, 4s 6d to 4s 8d; chick wheat (whole), 3s to 3s 3d per jbushel (off trucks Dunedin, sacks in, terms).

Oats. — There has been a little better fephng in tha market during the week, but prices fire unchanged at last week's quotations. We quote: Good" to best feed, 2s 2d to 2s 3d ; fair to caedium, 2s Id to 2s l|d; discoloured and inIferior, Is 9d to 2s ; milling, 2s 4d to 2s sd ; Song Tartarians and Duns, 2s 6d to 2s 9d per bushel (sacks extra, net).

Barley. — Market remains firm at late rates. fWe quote : Prime malting, 4s 9d to 5s Id ; tfair to medium, 4s 3d to 4s 8d ; feed and milling, 2s 6d to 3s 6d per bushel (sacks extra, iiet).

Chaff. — Large quantities havo come forward cluring the week, and the market at present is over-supplied, and prices have declined about 5s per ton. We quote: Prime oaten sheaf, £3 7s Gd to £3 10s; extra prime up to £3 12s 6d ; good, £3 to £3 5s per ton (ex truck, sacks extra, net).

Potatoes. — The market is still fully supplied, and prices have receded to the extent of about 10s per ton. We quote: Prime Derwents, £6 10s ; other sorts, £6 10s to £6 5s per ton (oft .trucks Dunedin, bags in, net).

Seeds. — We hold very large stocks of clovers, grasses, turnip seed, etc., specially selected and of splendid quality. Samples and quotations on application.
