DREDGING RETURNS.
The Dunedm Stock Exchange report the receipt of a telegram from the manager of the Golden Beach Company stating that he washed up on Saturday 670z sdwt 13gr gold fox 7*i hours' dredging ; value, £259 0s 4d. Mr N. P. iijorring, secretary of the Maniototo Dredging Co, reports a return of 350z 13dwt, 12gr"for 123 hours' dredging. The "Upper "Waipori Alluvial Gold-dredgmg Co (Limited), obtained last week 13oz 16dwt of gold for 133 hours' dredging. The Jutland Flat (Waipori) Gold-mining Co. (Limited) obtained last week 9os lOdwt of gold for 110 hours' wages time..aa hours' actual dredging. The Clyde dredge return is 48oz of gold. The river is 3ft (5m above the normal mark.
Mr Neville Sievwnght, secretary of the Lion Rock Dredging Company, reports a return of 9oz 4dwt 12gr gold for 129 hours' actual dredging. The dredgemaster reports that the dredge is at present going through some old workings, and he now expects better returns. Mr C. S Reeves reports the return from the Enterprise dredge of 20oz 16dwt of gold for this week.

The Dunedin Stock Exchange report the following returns for last week. — Golden Treasure Company, 270z lGdwt (five days) ; Otago Com1 any, lloz 3d,vt. The secretary of the Golden Beach Hydraulic Elevating and Dredging Company (Limited) has received a telegram from the manager stating he had washed up on Saturday 91oz 17dwt 16gr gold for 117 hours' dredging. Th«* diedge is working smoothly. The return from Kiley's Beach lor last week was 260z 7dwt sgr. — Cromwell Argus. Mr Jabe/, Burton reports that the Ettrick dredge washed up for the week ending 30th July 15oz gold. The Upper Waipori Alluvial Gold Dredging Co. (Limited) obtained last week 19oz 3dwt of gold for 132 hours' dredging. The Jutland Flat (Waipori) Gold Mining Company (Limited) obtained last week 15oz 17dwt of gold for 144 hours' wages time, 133 hours' actual dredging. Mr N. P. Ujorring, secretary of the M.miototo dredge, reports a return of 19oz lddwt for 123 hours' dredging. The Empire Gold Dredging Company (Limited) last week obtained '250z 6dwt of gold for last week.
The Dunedin Stock Exchange report :— Golden Run Pipes washed up 30oz gold for eight days work. The, Succe-s Dredging Company, Waipori, obtained 28oz gold for last week's work The Kmpire Gold Dredging Company (Limited) last week obtained 18oz 17dwt 12gr of gold for 97£ hours' actual dredging ; 144 hours' wages time. Mr 11. T. Wheeler, jnn , secretary of the Golden Teirace Dredging Conipiny reports a return of 420z 6dwt 15gr retorted gold for week ended 30th July.
HOGBURN GOLD DREDGING COMPANY
(LIMITED)
In this issue appears the prospectus of ths Hcgburn Gold Dredging Company (Limited), which is being formed for the purpose of placing a dredge on three claims m Spec Gully, Naseby. Every old miner acquainted with th^ Hogburn goldfield m its palmy days knows how rich were the return? from the terraces end small gullies overlooking Spec Gully, knows, too, of the persisitent attempts to work the gully itself, which were baffled again and again by the insufficiency of the fall in the, gully. The ground is regarded by those well qualified to judge as being certain to give handscran returns. It has been very thoroughly tested, and the prospects are said to give pro inise of a prosperous future to the company The brokers are Messrs Quick and Smith, and the interim secretary Mr G. L. Stewart, Nascby.
