( Sin,— Some months ago your contribute* " A Banker " in the course of a virulent attack upon Voltaire represented him as making a certain boasting statement to the effect that he would demolish Christianity singlehanded in oiie hundred years, although it had taken twelve men to establish it. Thinking that your contiibulor had misrepresented Voltaire, who was a benefactor to his kind, I Dckerl "A Banker" through your paper to quote Voltaire's exact words, and to specify where he found them. " A Banker " has not had >he couitesy to leply to my letter— at least I have failed to observe any reply in your columns. As Voltaire is now dead, and cannot defend himself, I again ask "your contributor to have the manhood to quote as requcsled, and thus give your leaders a chance to judge for themselves.— l am etc., Inqtjieek.
