SKIN AND HIDE REPORT.
Messrs KerasliardL and Co. (near railway station) report as follows : — liabbitskins.' — Our cablo from London advises an advance of lid to 2d per lb, which coincides with several other reports. We notice, however, one published cable reporting best skins to be worth in London 22d to 2-ld, and we presume those skins are silver greys, of which there is always only a limited quantity in a sale. The same cable quotes ordinary winter greys at 18d to 20d, which is in accordance with our own advice. As the local shippers have lately been buying for a bigger rise than 2d, they were lather disappointed, and prices at Monday's sile this week ran most irregular, and on the whole were wcakc, especially for fancy qualities, extra selected docs bringing 19d. Wo advise holders to tike advantage of present high prices, and seiid their skins to us without delay, as the chat* •• of a fall is much greater than that of a me when prices are at such a high pitch. We charge no commission (at present values Id to Jd poi lb), nor any other charges, and we pay cash on receipt of skiti3. Sheop&kins arc a shade weaker, but the demand is still active.
Hides and calfskins keep firm at up to Ud for beat stout ox, and up to 18d for sound calfskins. "Tat and Tallow.— Market firm at late *&tes.
