It will be remembered prizes were offered for the first, second, and third besb solutions. Q'he winners were as follows —First prizeBook of Fa traits, vol. 2, 3dol— Percy U. Bradt, champion oi 'Wisconsin, who was far ahead of his competitors on points, some 70 peT cent. Henry Spatb, the veteran player, author and publisher, of Buffalo, N.Y., takes second prize with a fine solution Third prize was won by Charles W. Tar bell, of Foxboro, Mass., who Bent an extended analysis, covering many of the neat point* The editor N.A.C.B. received 962 solutions, but only H discovered the trunk line to draw, which is essential to be correct. Among the large number who lailed to solve this problem was some of the best checker talent of America, England, Australia, and New Zealand, and some ol the letters are very inteiestmg reading. A.
