Fal Cattle— lsl yarded. Competition was ' good and prices were somewhat firmer than last week. Prime .bullocks brought £8 10s to £10 , one extra prime, £11 2s Gd ; good bullocks, £7 to 18 ; medium do, £6 to JE6 10s ; light do, £4 to £5 10s. We yarded 28 head, and bold. For Messrs Carmu.hae) Bros. (Riverside, Outram), 1 magnificent bullock at ill 2s Gd (top price for the day), and 2 veiy primp do U £10 each (Mr 10. F. Lawrence, of George street, being Hi.? purchaser of both lots), 2 prime bullocks at ii'J 153, 1 do at £1 10s, and a prime heifer at £6 3s, Mr Juo Wilson (Ophii), 14 bullocks at £7 2s Gd- to £& 7s 6d , Messrs Long, Wilson, and others, 7 head at quotations. Fat Sheep.— 23oo penned. Prices showed no improvement upon those of last week. Prime cios&brod wethers sold at 14s to 15s, one pen ■extra good, 16s, medium dn, 12s to 13s, li^ht, 10s to lls Gd, prime crossbred ewes, Us to 13s; medium, 9s Gd to 10s 6d , light, 7s to 9s. Fat Lambs.— Only G8 ya?ded, and these sokl under good competition at from 7s to 9s 3d. We yarded 50 nice quality but medium weight Jambs for Messrs Griffiths 8103. (Macraes), aw\ sold 38 at 8s and 12 tit 7s 3d. Pigs.— loo penned, and sold under good competition as follows —Suckers, (is io lls; slips, 13s Gd to 17s Gd ; stores, 19s to 245; porkers, 2Cs to CSs. J\ T o baconers oi choppers in. We have a lot of inquiry for baconers and porkers. The former sold to-day at equal 4£d to 4*d per lb. Sheepskins.— There was again a full attendance of buyers at our sale on Tuesday, when we offered a fair-sized catalogue and sold eveiy lot at prices equal to those ruling at our last sale. We quote: Crossbred (half to full wooiled), from 3s to 5s 6d ; do quarter to full wooiled, Is 6d to 3s; do pelts and small, 5d to ( lb 6d; merinos (half to full wooiled), 2s Gd to 4& ; quarter to half do, Is to 2s , do pelts, 2d to 8d; gieen cros&breds, 2s Gd to 3s Gd each. EabbiiiPkins. — Good competition, and prices unchanged. "We oan recommend consignments of all classes of skins, as they are in short supply, and much wanted. Hides.— Splendid demand at Jate rates. We would advise country butchers and others who have hides for disposal to give us an opportunity of selling for them. We quote: Prime heavy ox, 31 dto 3gd ; extra prime, up to 4d, medium, 2|d to 3d; light and inferior, l|d to 2ld pei lb. . Tnllov/ —Better demand exists for this, and prices show an advance of 103 per ton. We cuotc: Best, rendered mutton, lls Gd to 14s (kl; extra good, up to lCs: medium, 10s Gd to lls; discoloured and inferior, Ss Gd to 12s; rough fat, 8s Gd to 12s per cwt, AVh eat.— There is practically no change to report in the market, and very little business is being transactod except m chick wheat, which meets with fair demand at from 2s lOcl to 3s 4d. Nominally to-day's values are as foilow—Prime Tuscan and red sorts, 4s 7d to 4s 9d ; medium to good, 4s 5d to 4s 7d ; prime velvet, 4# 8d to 4a lOd ; medium to good, 4s 6d to 4s Sd; chick wheat (whole), 2s lOd to 3s 4d^ por bushel (.off tiucks. Dunedin, sacks iu^ terms). , , Oats.— The market shows no change, and prices remain firm at last week's quotations. A fair business is passing in feed and seed lines, although milling sorts are somewhat neglected. Wo quote: Good to best feed, 2s 2tl to 2s 3d ; fair to medium, 2s Id to 2^ ljcl ; discoloured and inferior, Is 9d to 2s; milhn?. Sis 4d to 2s sd; long Tartarian a and duns, 2s ba per ton (ex truck, sacks extra, net). Barley.— Business in this cereal is at present quiet, very few samples offering. There is good inquiry for milling descriptions at quotations. We quote: Prime malting 4s 3d to 5s Id; iair to medium, 4s 3d to 4s 8d , feed and milling, 2s Gd to 3s Crl per "bushel (snefcs extra, net). Chaff .—A fair quantity has come forward dnrin" the week, of which a large portion if of inferior ouahty, and although there is an excellent demand for prime samples, the inferior trades have had the effect of weakening trie market somewhat, and prices are to-day 2s Gd below those ruling at our last report. ue ouoie- Prime oaten sheaf, £3 12s Gd; extra prime, up to £3 15s ;" good, £3 2s Gd up to £3 os per ton (ex truck, sacks extra, net). Potatoes.— Good inquiry for prime Derwcnts, which are scarce and wanted.
