MANUGATUA.
June 6.— Since writing my last ploughing has been steadily gone on with in the district, the weather having been favourable in the extreme. A certain amount of ea - ly wheat has also been sown during the last month.
Complimentary.— lt is satisfactory to learn tbiit out little district is again to the front in respect of the late agricultural show. I notice that Mrs 0. Miller, of this district, has taken prices far gram ; also Mr R. A Kempshell for the same article, while the Misses Kempshell have asffUD diatinguisheci themselves in prize-taking for fancy butter That ought to be sufficient encouragement to others to go id for exhibiting. Accident.— An accident, which ought to be a warning to bicycle riders to be careful, happened io our neighbourhood a short time ago. As Mrs Thoma* Adici3 was driving along 1 the road the horse tootr fright at a bicycle thafc was; passing, anj the result was that the vehicle was capsized, throwing Mrs Adams violently to the ground and injuring her severely about tha face, causing her to be coutined to her bed for several days. Happily the injuiies were not of a serious nature, and the patient is now in a, fair way to recovery.
