THE WALTON PARK COAL COMPANY.

A meeting of the Walton Park Coal and Pottery Company (in liquidation) was held in Mr Leary's office, Chamber of Commerce Buildings, ou Monday afternoon. Mr T. H. Dick occupied the chair, and some 10 shareholders were present. Mr E. B. C. Quick, one of the liquidators, explained that the business was purely formal, all that waa necessary to the winding up of the company having been previously done, but it was still required that authority should be duly given for disposing of the books, as otherwise trouble might arise respecting them. If any shareholder required information upon matters connected with the winding up of the company it could, of course, be given, and if none were required he would suggest that a formal resolution that had been drafted by their solicitor should be adopted. Mr Thomas Somerville then moved, and Mr Louden seconded, the adoption of the following resolution: — "Resolved that the statement of the liquidators of the Walton Park Coal and Pottery Company now presented be adopted, and that the books and documents of the said company may be destroyed after the liquidators have made a return to the registrar of Joint Stock Companies of this meeting having been held." The motion was carried without dissent. The Rev. E. G. Ecwards said he would like to make one or two remarks concerning the fee paid for winding up the company. He was eorry to say he had been a shareholder in several companies that had come to grief, and &Oifi«£S?_si-rcJ»iiß^tfeem u» farihtti!»'£o

He thought they should not separate without expressing their thankfulness to the liquidators for having managed bo well and at a trifling expense. Mr Mackeeras concurred in what had baoa said, and remarked that it was due to the fac,& that the liquidators had performed their laborious duties co well that the re^nif; had been somewhat better than had beeu anticipated. Mr Quick acknowledged the vote of '.hanks, and in doing so «aici that much ot the credit was due to the late manager of the company, Mr Loadeu, who had been so careful that there had not been a loss of 1 per cent, upon the amount that had passed through his hands since last balance. This concluded' the business.
