CLEMENTS'S STATEMENT. Wellington, April 14. Clements, executed at Dunediu on Tuesday, ' did nob- leave a long confession. His statement, which was written and forwarded to the Government here, expressed sorrow for the crime. The murderer asked just before his execution that certain of his effects should ba distributed among his children.
