MEMORIAL SERVICE.

A service in memory of the late Mr George Miiller, founder of the orphan homes -a 6 Bristol, was held in connection with the Methodist Central Mission in the Garrhon Hall on Sunday night. There <vas a very large attendance cpon the occasion, the hall being crowded. The Rev. W. Ready gave a discourse with reference to the work of Mr Geo. In support of this statement he referred briefly to the lives of * number of great man whose influence was felfc at the present time although they had been dead many yearp. He then alludsd specially to tho late Mr Miiller, who, he said, "being dead, yet speakF.th." About 60 years ago Mr Miiller utsrted the Bristol orphanages wiih «, shilling. TM3 sum, Lowever, had been multiplied Ly the power of prayer to such an extent that contributions now came from every part of the world for the support of the orphaatges. The3e, together with the l£.nd on which they were erected, cost £119,000 ; and ifc took £25,000 a year to maintain them. Mr Miiiler had also established schook in various parts of England iv connection with the orphanagea. having teaching ftnffa second to none in the land. The preacher himself was educated at one of these schools, which had turned oub hundreds of men who bad made their mark in different spheres of life. During the evening the Hutton Orchestra played "The last muster" and tha " Dead March " in " Saul," the congregation all standing white the last-mentioned selection was being given.
