THE JUBILEE EXHIBITION.
1 Thubsdat, April 7. The attendance at the exhibition is keepingup remarkably well. There was a fair gather- > ing yesterday mornicg and afternooD, and in ■ the eveniDg the courts were well filled. ' The entertainment l&st evening was provided 1 by the Bunedin Photographic Society, which .took the form of a limelight exhibition of view*, | chiefly of scenes in the Wakatipu district. ' There was a large attendance, and the" views, | which were excellent ia themselyes and capitallj ' shown, were greatly appreciated. - Mr. A. .Field- ! wick was the limelight operator,- and the explanatory lecture was given by Mr A. J. Barth, | who w»8 unfortunately nob perfectly audible towards the back of the hall. This evening the | Millie St. Orme Company will again appear. ■ A second change of programme was presents'] 1 last eveniDg in the side show, " Galatea," a , Greek mystery, being »übstitnted for the pre- ; vious illusion. Each performance was well 1 attended and went without a hitch. FiJiDAT, April 8. The attendance a 6 the exhibition yestaiday \ morning and afternoon appeared above the average of the daylight attendances, many visitors spending their time in the Art Gallery (.where the orchestra played daring the *fternoon) or in the Early History court. In the evening, on the other hand, the attendance was less numerous than on the other nights of the week, aud this was probably to be accounted for by the fact that there were large crowds of people in all the streets enjoying the superb moonlight, and espsci»lly in the neighbourhood of the Garrison Hall, where the volunteers assembled prior to marching to Tahuna Park for the Easter encampment. The Sb. Orrna French Novelty Comp*DY again appeared in the Agricultural Hall last evening, and a. considerable cumber cf people witnessed tho performance ' Satdhday, April 9. There wfts a very largo attendance at the Exhibition yesterday. During the afternoon the courts were unusually well filled, the bulk of the spectators being strangers to town. Id tho evening the attendance was cob only the largest of the week but was one of the largest of the exhibition tesson bo far as it has gone The tea kiosk wag filled du?ipg tha l&tter part of the evening, and the traffic in several of the avenues was frequently brought to a standstill through a blcck oi visitors. The sacred csneert in the Agricultural Hall was very largely attended, the gallery as well as the body of the hall being crowded. Jlonbay,. April 11. . Tho attendance at the exhibition continues to keep up remarkably well. On Saturday over 3000 persons gained admission to the bnildingr, a considerable number of the visitors being country residents. The entertainment given by the St. Orme Novelty Company at the Agricnlfcural Hall in the evening attracted a very large attendance. Tuesday, April 12. The exhibition was again very largely patronised yesterday, great interest being evinced by the visitors in the Art Gallery and the Early History and Fishery courts, as well as in the various exhibits of private firms. In the evening a concert, given in the Agricultural Hal!, was very well attended, the lower portion of the hall being densely crowded, whila ] the gallery was also f *irly well filled. Steps are being taken to form a bowling club at Palmeraton which are likely to prove successful.
