Trevor ns Mr H Hardy's fwd Wild Night, by Freshman — Fine Night, beat Duke of Leed's blk d Lang Syne, by 80-.s o' the Shanty— Belle of Soham. Wild Night beat Ci?sy Smith.-Betting : 5 to 2 on Wild Night. In a long stretch down the Withins the favourite led a couple of lengths, and coming nicely to her game shot away with a good lead for the second, still holding clever possession in a nice little spin until puss made the sough. Lang Syne beat Jesses txni Bells (1, drawn). — Betting : 5t04 oa Lang Syne, who drew out three lengths, Jesses and Bells being momentarily blinked from slips. Lang Syne kept the lead for first turn, but did not come round well as puss broke sharply to the right. This gave Jesses aud Bells a nice chance, but pecking as she obtained possession, the black shot past for the next point. The hare agaiu doubling short, the white and black resumed possession, and wrenched twice before they jointly killed, the cap thereupon coming off. An arrangement was afterwards made in favour of Lang Syne. Wild Night beat Bella Dobson.— Betting: 11 to 4 on Wild. Night, win was three lengths the faster, and bearing well on her hare as pus 3at last bore to her side quickly brought her teeth into play. Lang Syne beat Rockford. — Betting : 5 to 4 on. Lang Syne, who lost ground at the drain, and was two lengths behind at one time. He nearly closed up, however, for the turn, and as puss came round shot in for the second point. Rockford stretched well ahead for the third, from which the white collar resumed possession, there being little between them as they disappeared over the bank. Upon reappearing Lang Syne was still having the best or it. Wild Night beat Faber Fortunse.— Betting : 11 to Bon Faber Fortunes The favourite drew out a couple of lengths for first turn, but being at once in a hurry to kill cut out a bit, and Wild Night forging wsll away for the next point, and setting cleverly to work, she added second and third points, keeping her place under difficulties, before Faber shot up on the inside and killed. Lang Syne beat Little Blowhard.— Betting : 7 to 4on Lang Syne. In a fine stretch Lang Syne drew away four lengths, and, steadying himself nicely at his hare, floored her with a fine stroke. Wild Night beat Under the Globe.— Betting : 11 to Bon Under the Globe. It was a good race for some distance, and though Under the Globe at last shook the bitch off in a good stretch, he could ouJy lead, her. a bare two leneths. He cut out gg

the hare came round, and the fawn taking possession spun smartly with her hare thrice and killed. '• Lang Syne beat Wet Day.— Betting : 9 to 4 on Wet Day. In a fine stretch Lang Syne gradually drew out three lengths for first turn, and, coming ■well with his hare as she broke to the left, shot up well ahead for the second point. The blue was placed for the third, but he could not hold his position, Lang Syne soon dashing to the front and in a good workiDg course the issue was never in doubt, the black displaying great resolution throughout. Wild Night beat Chock.— Betting : 6 to 4 on Wild Night. It was a desperate race to the hare, the lead hanging in the balance until the very fiuish, and it was only through struggling more gamely than-her opponent that Wild Night just gained the coveted point. She came round, however, in j very much the smarter style, and tlinugh Chock ; exchanged feebly a few t'mes a capital trial left I Wild Night the easiest of winners!, as nusa again. Sought the friendly escape on the bank. Lang Syne beat Ryde.— Betling : 5 to 4 on Ryde. They wete delivered together, but Ryde clearing the first drain more smartly than his opponent, obtained a lead of a length and a-hslf in the first 80yds. Lang Syne displaying the same courage as against Rockford, then came at him, and gradually forging up drew clear, h^ing just well clear when he scored the turn. Ryde got a chance for the fceeond point, as xhe hare bioke back, but puss Completing the double Ling Syne drew ahead again for the third point, and showing both more speed and determination than his opponent throughout the remainder of an average course, ■was a decisive winner as puss made the s jugh, the result being received with a loud lound of cheers.. Will Night beat Lang Syne.— Betting at first 5 to 4 on Wild Night, then it rose to 11 to 8, and when it was seen how lame he was as Lang Syne walkedto alips the odds rose to 6to 4. Bootiman effected a beautiful delivery, but the bitch being the quicker in her stride and clearing the drain a little the better, gained half a length advantage in the first SOjdß. Lang Syne then gradually more than held her, and it was after a desperate struggle that the black gradually forged to the front and gained the all important first point by fcleagih and a-half. The bare not being equal to breaking forward with safety had to come short round, and this, of course, enabled the bitch to go up nicely in front for the second turn, fche then came beautifully rouud for 1 he third, and though Lang Syne made a game effort to displace her the bitch swung beautifully on the scut aud defied his efforts. The black twice fairly shot past on the outside, but puss each -time at the critical moment shifted from him, and this was the last straw, Wild Night, despite the black's game efforts to displace her, being the mo£t decisive of ■winners as she killed. WATERLOO PURS?. Mr J. .Russell's w blk d Real Turk, by Falconer —Heal Lace, and Mr J Coke's w r b p Cissy Smith, by Falconer— Mrs Mack, divided. "WATERLOO PLA.TE. Mr T. Baxter ns Mr D.
