1847. NOVEMBER.
27th.— The ships John TFickliffe and Philip Lainq "were despatched with tho pioneers, the former sailing" from London and the latter from Greenock. Captain Cargill, the Company's agent, and the prospective head of the settlement, accompanied tho immigrants by the John. Wickliffe, and the Rev. Thomas Burns those by the Philip Lainy.
