March 15. ! Me Ambridge, of New Plymouth, has sold Australina for £120 to R. Wheeler, who has also purchased a fxmr-ye*r-old gelding by Tairaponga (son of Armourer and Shrovetide) from Vesper, full sister to Sunshine, dam of Sundial and Wateibury. j Mr J. R. MaccTonald, of Korowheuua, purchased j Toriki (Torpedo— Kopiki) at the Waiisauui races
for £250, and the gelding is now in Prosser's charge. Sir Maedonald secured Opai at the Woodville meeting, the price paid being about £150. The inquiry into the running of Off Chance at the Manawatu Autumn meeting was resumed on Friday, when the evideuce of the owner (Mr Banks 1 , trainsr (R. Kingan), and jockey (F. Kingan) wa3 taken. Further proceedings were then adjourned to allow the stewards to make inquiries at Napier. [1 he above came to hand late last week. — Ed. O.W.]
