A few strides farther on Erameliue compounded aud relinquished the lead in favour of Starshofc, the latter entering she straight with a scroug advantage from any of the others, Red Lancer, Pitch and Toss, and Sequin all flattering these backers at this stage with forward movements. Whan head 3 were fairly turned for home it wxs Pitch and Toss that was second, and Sequin ran into third piace, but neither was able to get near the leader, Siiarahot winning very easily by three lengths from Pitch and Toss. Arline and Vanilla drew out into the lead, and ran together to the home turn with Sfc. Clements third, bu, as they rounded into the straight Vanilla, was displaced by St. Clements, the latter being under the whip, but Arline was running very kindly in the lead and maintaining her position with "ease. !Sv. There were, however, four or five of them almost in line there, and when there was anything to choose between these Bloomer was iv frout, and not being again troubled she woa easily by a couple cS lengths from Remorse 11, while Marlin, making a late run, finished a good third, with Sb.
