We have negotiations pending for several other properties. THE LABOUR MARKET. Mr Skexe leportß under date March 22:— Tbe demand for country people, s-hephev's, couples, ploughmen, harvesters, boys aud lads, etc., has bean healthy up to date. But now we have called a halt, and masters and men have thrown work and care to the wipds, and all aye determined to have a right good time in Dunedin celebrating tbe Jubilee of Otago. Town workmen — carpeutors, painters, etc.— are up to the eyes in work preparing for the great event, and town servants are at a premium. Wages kuep up to the mark.
