AN IDEAL CRUISE.
(From Oub Own Correspondent.) Wellington, March 17. North Island people are much interested in an expedition to the South Seas thab is being equipped by Miss Ha3tio, a wealthy Edinburgh lady, who was for some time staying in Wellington, bub is now at Wanganui. For bhe cruise, which is bo lasb about six months, a schooner has been chartered at the cost of £200 a month. Mr F. W. Christiau, who has made a study of the Polynesian languages, accompanies the party in the capacity of honorary interpreter, and Mr F. F. C. Huddleeton, formerly of bhe Hermibage, Mounb Cook, and cow of Wanganui, goes as naburaliab and collecbor. A docbor and an experienced photographer, who was formerly with an English firm, have also been engaged. Miss Hastie is an enthusiast in natural science, and ib is probable thab thi3 may be the forerunner of similar trips to New Guinea and other parts.
