OTAGO SETTLEMENT JUBILEE.
I Publication oE the SPLENDID ILLUB* , TRATEB NUMBER of the Daily Times and Witness, the first copies o£ which were : delivered to tubscribera on Wednesday, j showed that the publishers had made a con* tribution to the records of the Jubilee year . that will be found in thousands of homes in '• New Zealand for many years to come, for it ia undoubtedly worthy of permanent preierration as a complete record of the growth of the settlement, with profuse illustrations of leading men in religious, judioial, educational, civic, banking, and other walks of life from Ofcago'a earliest days to the prestnt time, and hundreds of portraits of early settlers. j The public verdict as to the completeness i of this, the most comprehensive and snecesa- | ful illustrated publication yet issued in the ' colony, was highly gratifying to the publishers, and augurs a speedy sale of the , SECOND EDITION which it has been found : necessary to place in hand. The publishers regret their inability to j supply all the orders for the First Edition I that havo been received, but as the publicai tion is not an ephemeral thing, but some- ; thiDg that will be permanently treasured, I the inconvenience to subscribers and agents in having to wait for further supplies will not be so keenly felt as would otherwise have been the case. The SECOND EDITION is being urgently pushed forward, and orders will be filled at jas early a date as is possible. Those who ; deeire additional copies are urged to send in ! their orders promptly, as it is improbable they will be procurable within a ehort time after they are issued. i Samples of Bound Copies, in three styles I of binding, with gilt title, can now be ieea at the offices, Dawling street.
