A parade of volunteers and cadets in ths South Otago military district was held on the 16th met. At a meeting of tbe F Battery Artillery (Napisr) on the 16bh inst. the following resolution wan carried :— " That the battery under present circumstances considers it unpatriotic to disband, and will therefore carry on as an infantry company as ordered ; that representa1 tion be made to tbe Defence department that if j a fresh battery of artillery be required ths ■ claim * of F Battery should receive special con- ' sideration."
