MuiCH 5.— A cue" in anl of the futda for psintinfe 'he Otepopo Chi.rcn. of England was be;d last night, the Rev. Mr BUthwayt occupying the chair. After explaining the object to which the funds wsre to be devoted, he called upon Miss Paterson to open the concert by playing a pianoforte selection entitled " The Fairy Barque," which she did in a mo3t able manner. I have not space to give a detailed account of the concert, but will content myself by naming the performers — viz., Misses Familton (Maheno, encoreJ) and May Thomas, Mrs Pearce (flJaheno), Messrs Foweraker, Thomson (Etampden), Marshall (encored), B athwayt, Wilson (encored), and E J. Eeid. Mrs Pearce aud Mrs A. Frame respectively contributed duets along with Mr Foweraker. The accompanists were Misses Paterson, May Thomas, and Laura B'athwayt, who performed their duties Fatiefactorily A violin solo by Mr Mortimer, of Ilampden, was, I have no doubt-, well rendered, but was considerably marred by the excessive drumming of his accompanist, who, I may say, dil not belong to Herbert. While I cannot say that the concert was perfect, I will give all ere .it for doing their best The concert was followed by a performance by the Hampdea White Rose Minstrels, aud this by a farce entitled, " Cured by the (.'alathumpiun Process," after which the hall wq,s cleared for dancinsr, which was kept up to the " wee *ma' oors ayont the twal," music being t-upplied by Miss Paterson (piano) and Mr T. A. Gillespie (violin), after which all went home agreed that a most enjoyable evening had been tpent. The net proceeds of the concert were £4 10s, which amount, along with the proceeds of a former concert, will be sufficient to give the church two coats of^>>iint, so that before long our little Eoglish church will be a building pleasant to look at. [A quantity of correspondence is unavoidably held over.— Ed.]
