FLOODS IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
Sydney, February 15. Tha weather is still gloomy and threatening. The Hawkesbury and Hunter Rivets are in high flood, and the lower parts of Caradea are flooded. The residents had to remove. The country has gone from drought to floods. There is great loss of stock at Camden. The cataract dam, 500fb long, at the head of the Sydney water supply, wa» swept completely away by a torrent. Fortunately tho Prospect Reservoir contains 11,000,000,000 : gallons, which will lasb Sydney for 18 i months. February 18. Details are coming to hand which go to show that the floods in the country did immense damage to tbe maize crops in ths Camden district, while the loss of stock is I estimated at L 15.000. 1 At Bangendoro two men and a won?an camped near the crack were washed away, and the men drown«d. Tha woman clung to a bush and was rescued. The mail train was stopped by the wash-away, and the passengers 'had to remain in the oArriages all night. At G'ooma a catastrophe waa narrowly averted. Tbe engine of tho aQEiI train running on to a bridge, the wheels began to sink, owing to fcbe rails being displacod, and stopped. Water flooded the flcura of the carriages, but tbe passengers had to remain in them till the flood subsided.
