The Cotnniiusioner of Grown Lands at Invercargill wrote stating that Mr G. Stewart, the leosee of section 5 of 406 a, Hokonui, had applied lo tha Land Board for leave to purchase the freehold of the section, and that tho board approved of the purchase, provided the commissioners recommended the Governor to issue a proclamation authorising fche s*le. — GovernmenlTto be recommended accordingly, WAIBAKI HUN. Ib was reso'ved that the Wallace County Council be informed that the commissioners after making inquiry cannot recognise the necessity for laying off a road line s as proposed, through the Wairaki run. REPORT. Recommendations contained in the monthly report of Mr J. L, Macdonald were dealt with as follows : — That the works proposed to prevent the encroachment of the Mataura River be pub in hand as soon as possible. A report; was received of the sale of runa, &0., at Gore ou the 25th ultimo, and it was recommended that the sections which had not; been taken up should be advertised as open for application. — Agreed to.
