As it was 1 hopel ss for either one of the Lytlelton corp3 to j rceet them with success, a team consisting of live men of the Lytteltoa Navals aud five of tha ' N Batlery .wore ohosen to meet the victors. Even with this combination Ljttelton was not successful, the JN" Battery section being beaten ' by one pilot aud the Naval section by 17 points. Tho match was started at 7 a.m. on New Year's Day, bat as the Lyt'elton range is not a fasfc 6hootiug one only the 300 and 500 yarda could jbe fired. Even with this the teatn did not get j through till midday. The success of the trip was no small way due to the untiring ; energies of Sergeant Suiter, who left no stone unturned to make the trip an enjoyable one. The following are the scores :—: —
