The contemplated purchase of the Starborough and Flaxbonrne estates by the Government is assisting in no small measure to shore np the drooping spirits! of Blenheim business men, for things have been at a particularly low ebb in that township for some time past. An old identity at Hamilton, Auckland Alex. Dilley, has been missing- since Friday night, when he was seen under the influence of liquor. He was in the habit of crossing tbe railway bridge at night. When lart seen he w»s walking towards the bridge. It is supposed the old fellow has fallen between the sleepers on the bridge into the river. The bridge ia nofe floored*
