When they came fairly into view Aluminium was noticed in front on the inside, the nearest of tha others being Fortunio, Embrasure, Fifeshire, and Orpheline, with Ayrshire badly placed in The ruck. A furlong from home Aluminium was done with, and Embra^uie shot out, pursued by Fortuaio and Veloce, with Ayrshire pressing forward. The latter got rid of the others, but he was too late to catch Embrasure, who beat the fast-finishing topweight by something over a length for first notice. There was no pace on to begin with, the earl? running being made by Peeress, who was hangindl out, attended by Battalion, with Moonlyong ana Sortie the last two, there not being much betweea fii-dt and lash The rate of going being unsuitable for Mischief, Pearson <ibd7e the daughter of Com", motion to the front a mile from home, aDd she proceeded to make the running merrily from Peeress, Battalion, Damien, Sunbury, aDd The Chevalier. Negotiating the home bend, Peeress was done with and she dropped out, leaving Mischief to go on with a commanding lead of Battalion. When well in the straight the top weight went out after Muchier, and Sortie also put in a claim at the same time. Battahou made a grancE effort, but he just failed, being beaten by half a head by Mischief, with Sortie, finishing well, a goorl third. The Chevalier and Moonlyong followed the placed ones, and Peere-s was last. Time, 2min 39Jsec.
