Although only eight acceptances have been re' ceived for the Cup, the minor events have filled well. A final payment for the Cup of 6sovs has to be made on Monday next. A. final payment of sdovs has to be made for the Welksley Stakes f and a sweep of ssovs for the Wellington Stakes has to be paid at the same time. Gold Medalliflt ha-s incurred 101b penalty in the "Wellington Stakes, and Blazer ar d Goldleaf 51b each. Of those likely to make the payment, Hike Chasseur and Tigress. Dante and Flying Shot are lower down in the handicaps at the Hutt than they have been for sometime.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the stewards of the Wellington Racing Club was held yesterday afternoon, Mr F. Franklyn (vicepresident) in the chair. The following piogi'amtnes were submitted for apptoval, and being in order wercs passed :— Otaki (Maori) Hack Racing Club Autumn meeting, May 24 and 25 (stakes £555), and the Shannon Hack Uacing Club, April 13. Sir Agnes, of the stakes in the Prince of Wales Handicap at the Spring meeting on November 9 last was not entertained, the matter appealed against being one of fact and not of the interpretation of the lules. The decision of the local club was final. The* largest creditors are "W. .Ayres (Christchuich), bookmaker, £30, and B. Poole (Feilding), settler, £47. All the creditors are unsecured, 'lhe debtor's assets are set down as nil.
