Mr J. B. Nichol has received intimation that be has passed his fiual examination for the IiL.B degree. On Snnday the Hon. Me Hall-Jones, Minister for Public Works, accompanied by Messrs - Kelly, GiKedder, Morrison, and Pinkerton, arrived ia Roxburgh from Heriot and Miller's Flat. Messrs Dunae, Bennetts, and Joseph Taniblyn, members of the Rjxburjrh-Heriet Railway League, met the party at Dan robin, and together they inspected the Mo» Flab estate and the proposed railway extension route from Heriot -to Roxburgh. The estate was al§o inspected from the Koa Flat side, the views obtained beiog rery favourable. At Miller's rHfc the works in connection with the new bridge wore briefly examined. On Monday morning tha party proceeded further up the goldfiekls, under the care of Mr Hugh Craig.
