A BRIG FOUNDERS.

•SUPPOSED LOSS OF SEVEN

LIVES. Sydney January 3.

Captain Gallant, of the brig Minora, engaged in the coal trade between Sydney and Newcastle, was picked up off Cape Three Points. He had bsen in the water 24 hours. He states that the brig foundered near the spot. The cook, who was with him In the water, disappeared sometime through the night, and it is supposed was drowned. Gallant is in a precarious condition. There are no tidings of the remainder of the crew, supposed to consist of six others besides the cook and captain.

Two seas boarded the Minora, which sank within five minutes. There is very little doubb but that the other members of. the crew, numbering seven, have been drowned*
