WAIKAIA.

December 27.— 1 have to report another very sudden death — that of Mrs Northcoat, wife of Mr T. Northcoat, one of our oldest settlers. Mrs Northcoat was walking across the paddocks with her son to visit a neighbour, and fell down, expiring 1 almost immediately. Act inquest was held, and a verdict of "'Death from syncope, or failure of the heart's action" was returned.
