MOUNT CARGILL.

The Mount Csrgill School picnic was held on the 17th. The weather wa-s all that could be desired, and there was a good attendance of parents and friends. After justice had been dona to the good things provided and duly served by the teacher (Miss Gunu) and Messrs A. Graham, Rosiitter, T. Lang, and G. Henry, jun. (members of the committee), games were indulged in and races run by the school children. A number of glee* and action gongs were sung. Miss Nellie MacMahon sang " Tbe little orange girl " very sweetly, and Miss M. Argue and Master J. MacMahon gave a recitation, which was heartily applauded. The chairman (Mr A. Graham) then distributed certificates for good attendance, and Miss Gunn Christmas cards and sweets to all. In the evening a dance was held and was well attended, dancing being kept up to the early hours. The music was supplied by Mr D. Winter, and Mr G. Henry, jiin., acted as M.C.
