'AH righ V said I, ' now let mo take White And see if you can draw.' The pieces set, I essayed £0 22, when shaip came the answer, 10 W, 18 9. 3 8, and again I had to own myself worsted. 'You have a nico little problem this time, professor,' said I ; 'let ag have another look at it, and again it was set up. After a very careful look, I said : ' You think you can draw that problem?' 'With I i lack I can,' he said. ' Oh, I'll take White and force a win,' I answered, 'and this is the way to do it: 1!) 16, !12 19, 18 14, 10 17, £6 22, 17 26, 30 7, 3 10, £0 16.' 'Ain't you going to give it up? 1 eaid Boxer. 'I have two to your one and win/ ' I don't give it up,' I replied. ' I undertook to force a win, but it is you I shall force to win, professor.' ' Oh, that is your game, is it ? ' said he ; ' then go 10 14, 16 12, 4 8, 12 3,' and poor Boxer found he had the losing move."
