The Wairio programme for the meeting on January 19 resembles the bill of fare p it forward by this club last year, the only alteration being that the District Rac3 is supplanted by a Selling Race, and ssovs is taken off the stake and added to the Flying, making the latter 25eovh. Iv all £IGB is to be raced fur, the leading events being -the'Cupof 40oow, a mile and a-half. This is a liberal programme, bot the distinct is a thriving one for horse-racing— turf iiiberesta are- decidedly looking up in those parts -and, it is pretty well certain that given anything like favourable weather a successful' meeting will be the outcome.
