fe . Messrs Mohitzson and Hopkin, Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for week ending December 22. All quotations subject to market fluctuations :—: —

Wheat.— The demand is not very active owing to the local mills being well stocked. "We have inquiries for prime velvet, and civ place same at quotations. We quote : Best velvet — Oainn.ru 4s 7d, south 4s 4'l to 4s 51 ; best Tuscan—Oamaru4s 6d to 4a 7d, south 4s 3d ; red chaff, 4s 3d ; fowls' wheat, 3-j 3d to 33 7d. Oats : ■ The market is fairly brisk, but prices are without; alteration. We quote : Bc>t feed Is 9£d to Is lOd ; medium, Is 9J per buahel ; Sutherlands, Is lid to 2-». Barley: Keed soits are quoted at 2a 3d to 2s 6d ; milling. 3s to 3s 31; malting, fiom 4s to 4s Bd. Ryecorn, 3a 31. Flour : We quote £12. Oatmeal in 25V, £11 10s Pearl barley, £16 Bran, £3. Pollard, £3 15s. Nelson hops are quoted at 10id to la. Chaff : Prime, £3 12* Gd to £3 15s ; Rood, £3 5s to £3 10s. R> c-Rrais : The only demand is for small, shotty seed. Fanners' dreised, 2s to 2i lOd ; machined, 3s 3d to 4s. Cocksfoot, 2Jd to 3id for farmers' lots, and 4-U1 to fijd for machined. Linseed (wanted), £10 lO.s to £11. Pressed straw, 255. Clover hay, £3 ss. Nitrate of soda, £15. Kainir, £5. Basic slag, £5. Clovers, rape, &c, just landing. We can . off er all classes of seeds puje and fresh. ! Potatoes. — New kidney, 10s to 12s per cwt. Owing to the wool sales, the usual weekly sales of rabbitskins and sheepskins were not held this we«k. Hides, IJd to 3Jd, according to weight and condition. Tallow : Rough fat, 93 to lls ; tendered,. 12a to 15s. Horsehair, Is to Is 3d. Wool. — The first sale of the season. was held on Tuesday, December 21. We refer our readers to our report, which appeared 1 ia the Times of tha 22nd inst., also Witness. ( ~ Cheese : ( Good Akaroa, 4d ; factory, 4£d to 4£d. Pigs. — For good <quality, 3Jd. Poultry received 1 for sale, any day. Roosters J (young), 4a ; hens, 2s 3d to 2a 6d ; ducks (young) 4 4s tD ss.

Beeswax (wanted), Is to I 3 3d for prime quality: Fruit.— We receive consignments of all kinds of fruit and garden produce;' which we sell either by auction or privntely, as we "think best in the interests of consignors.
