O.i, 'here's sulphur in. the kitchen, And thero's brimstone in the hall, While " words" loud aud portentous lticochet f lorn every wall ; The women walk on tiptoe, Lest they feel effects of ire, F -r father is attemptiDg To repair apunclmect tj're! There are sprockets on the doorknob, And the paddle's on v n^il ; Thtt rims ars on the jjns jet, A^d I>:tll-bearing8 fall like hail. There is ijoro upon the carpet, Caused by blustering spokes of wire, As father is attempting To rapiiira punctured tyre 1 Ob. tiia baby's gone to gapping, Aud each breath ieems liko its last, Tor it's swallowed balf thestickum And its iusides arc eluod fast ; . LUtle Johnny's lost the rubber, Ia his wish to help the sire In his wild, misspent endeavour To repair a punctured tyre 1 Oh, the gasoline for cleaning Has exploded with a flash, Aud the tub for tracing bubbles Has tipped over with a BpUsh • 11/fah ! 'Tis fuiifhed ! Now he's pumnfng ! "Failed to stick 1" -and thro' lhe mire To the puncture-ivan goes 3 father With bis still rteflateil tyre.
