December. 13 —Tho ordinary monthly meeting of ths Teviot and Alexandra Fruitgrowers' Company was held in ihu Athenreuin Buildings on Saturday evening, Mr B:nn.ettsi in the chuir. A letter from Mr H. Cros*iu>, of the Biidge Hotel, Beaumont, offering special facilities for the accom-, niodAtioa of the drivers And horses of the fruit teams, was received. A letter from Mr l'ryor, manager, re a change in the Christchurch agency was teceived. It was decided to accept; the offers of Metsis A. and J. M'Farlaue and tho Phoenix Company for jam fruit, and -not to accept tho oifer of Messrs Irvine and Stevenson. M'Oallum and Co., Invercargill, wrote tendering for fiuit cases £9iti x 14in x tim, £1 12< per 'lo) cxees; 2Hin, x I4in x 7iu. £1 14s per 100 cases ; cut and tied in bundles and put on trucks at lavercargill. Several others firms also tendered, but it was dsL'id*d to accept M'Callum and Co.'* tend«r, and t > order 1000 c^ses if all of red pine and 2000 cases it" the b-<ttenb were of white pine. The railage to Lawrence is pretty heavy, going as high as 13j 3d per 100 cases. The specifications, with amendments re the cartase or fruit, were adopted on the motion of Messrs Campbell and Toms. It was resolved that Mr Bloxhain bs sent to Dunedin as the 'company's representative, leaving early in Jauua:y. The usual vole to the chair terminated the proceedings.
