Rkefton, December 11. • Saturday Midday Quotations.— Alpine Ex- j tended, 5s 4d to 6s ; Big River, 9s to 10s 6d ; : Buller dredce, 3s 6d to 4s ; Cumberland Ex- j tended, 2s 6d to 3s ; Dillon Extended, 6d to 9d ; Golden Load, 9i to Is Hercules, 6d to 9d ; Keep-it-Dark, 20s to 21s; No. 2 South Dark, 6d to 9d ; Lord Edward, 8d to 10d ; Welcome (paid up), 4s' to 5s ; Boatmaus Exploration, fad to 9d. The manager of the Big River mine reports : — " Stoping has been continued, as usual, below ISo. 5 level. The reef varies io thirkness from 2ffc to 7ft, and of low grade. The stone that wav lisen on over No. 1 intermediate level gave out at Bft or 7ft. We are bow sinking from the floor of the j drive. The winze is now down Sffc (without j timber). The stone is 4ft thick and is a good quality."
