Lyell. Sep'embar 24. Alpine Extended. — The following is the mine manager's report for the week:—"'! he N". ]0 main level has been extended south a distance of 15ffc. Another mass of itor.e has come in on the footwall, but at pieseut I am unable to ju 'ge as to its quality-., It cau-ies a small amount of water.' The north wioza at the bottom of No. 9 level has besn sut>k a further depth of sft, making the total depth completed 125 ft. I shall timber up and discontinue sinking hes e, having now reached the required depth to make the connection with No. 10 level. The reef is bet\veen,2ft and 3ft in width, clean and solid,and of fair quality. Eighty tons of stone haye been sent to the battery during the week."
