GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report that prices ruled as under at their auction sale on Monday : —
Oats.— We offered medium to good feed, which sold at Is 10£ dto Is Hid per bushel. A fair demand exists for good feed lines suitable for shipment. Medium and discoloured lots are plentiful, and not in-request. We quote : Seed linss, 28 2d to 2s 6d ; prime milling, 2s Id to 2s 3d ; good to best feed, Is lid to 2s ; medium, Is lOd to Is 10id per bushel (s*eks extra). Wheat.— No change in value to reuort. We Fold several lines of fowl wheat at 3s 3d to 3s 6d per bushel.
Potatoes — "We offered a few truclts, chiefly good to prime Oamaru Derwents. Bidding was slack.
and best lots sold at £2 12a 6d to £2 153 ; medium to good, j£2 5s to £-2 10s per ton (bags in).
Chaff. — The market was over-supplied to-day. We offered- about 60 tons, medium to prime quality. Prime'quality was fairly well competed for and values for this class were almost on a par with late quotations. Medium quality, however, was not in request, and could only be quitted at a reduction. "We quote : Best oaten sheaf, £'i 12s td to jC3 17s 6d : medium to good, £3 to £3 10s per ton (bags extra).
Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having held tneir usual weekly auction sale, when prices ruled as under :—
O-*tß. — The demand still limited, and pripps remain unchanged. We quote : Prime milling up to 2s 3d ; good feed, Is lid to Is II Jd ; medium, Is lOd to Is 10£ d. Wheat. —Mai ket. unchanged. We offered some small Hues of fowl wheat, which sold at from 3s 3d to 3s 6d.
Potatoes — We offei'ed several lots, but were hard to place. We quote : Prime northerns from £2 10s to £-2 15s ; southerns, £2 5s to £2 10<. Chaff. — In consequence of heavy arrivals during/ the week the market is much easier, especially for inferior and medium quality, the bulk of the chaff offering being of that description We qnote : Really prime cbaff to .£3 17s 6d ; medium, £3 5s to £3 10s; inferior (no demand), £2' ss to .£2 1&.
