Draughts Matches.
Maheno v. Enfield.
This match took place on Thursday, 23rd incfc, at Enfield. The contest was fought in a friendly spirit, and was cloao enough to maintain the interest right to the finish. In the space of 90 minutes every pair scampered through four games, so that spectators had a treat. The game was " controlled," as they say in football (what irony I when four or five men are " laid out " and laid up, and saveral others can't tell how many fingers you hold up at a dlstanca of 3ft), by Mr J. A_ Bornham, and Mr T. Lindsay and Mr D. Ljdale captained their respective sides. The following are the scores :—: — MAHENO. SMFIELDk Wins. Draws. Winer. 2 Or. Barraclough 1 J. Patterson „.
