Canon Gould (Oaniaru), who bad gained a winning superiority in the first night, scored a win against Mr Searell. A t board 4 Air Milner won his game from Mr Lee. At board 5 Mr A. J. Smith, having gained a superiority on tbe first evening, has furr.her improved his position, but the game was unfinished. At board 6 the game between Messrs Cant and Bolton was perfectly even and unfinished. At board 7 Mr J. Y. L. Scobt has a winning position against Mr Skeet. , At board 8 Mr Jackman (Oamaiu) won on the first evening's pliy. At board 9 Mr Donald (Oamaru) has the advantage At board 10 the game is quite even and unfinished _ At board 11 Mr Clutten (Canterbury) won. At board 12 the game was drawn. At board 13 Mr Mowbray (Oamaru) has the advantage. At board 14 Mr Paterson (Oamaru) has the advantage. Tbe net result will probably be : — CANTERBURY.
