VICTORIA HOME LIFE.

Mr* Margaret Ross ia a fine .sample of the class that has done so much to turn the wastes of inland "Victoria into " smiling homestead?." Originally she resided at Heathcote, and there, some two decade* since, witnessed the fluctuation of roioing fortune that made the locality hifctorical in Victorian mining annals. Some years later she removed to Alexandra, and in the vicinity of that pretty township — close to tho Acheron — Mrs Ross and family lived np to two years sinre, when, coming to Melbourne with her husband, they purchased the wellknown grocery store at the junction of Rathdown and Palmerston streets, where a representative of the Carlton Gazette found her ready fed willing to discourse on the immense benefits the had received frona a course of Dc Williams's Pink Pills for Pale People. Mrs Ross looked the picture of health, and courteously requested our representative to be seated ; and there was a smile of genuine welcome when our mission was explained and the history ot her particular malady and its cure solicited.

"Neuralgia," replied Mis Ross, "was the complaint I suffered from for a period of 10 or 12 years. Duriug the daytime my sufferings were painfal, but on retiring to rest tho agony I suffered was excruciating, reducing me to a state of general collapse. I felt it during the day slightly, but mosi severely after I got warm at night."

" Did you consult any doctors at all ? "

" Many, but received no permanent bsnefib. They gave me draughts and powders, but the effect was really nothing."

"You, of couibs have tried other remedies ?"

" Yes, I tried everything, but obtained no relief."

•• What induced you to try Dr Williams's Pink Pills for Pala People ? "

"An elderly lady, resident at Heathcote, 74year3 of age, who had been a sufferer from rheumatism for 4-0 years, and who has been absolutely cured by their use, recommended me to try Pink Pills for Pale People." 14 How long since might that be ? " ••Six weeks sinee — the beginaing of July. During the tims I was taking the first box I loßt only one night's rest ; but since then have never had the least return of the old complaint." •' Have you used muoh of the medicine ? "

Mr Lyne said tbat Naw South Wales wanted a straight out vote ai to whether there should be a referendum.

As the Committee got more and more mixed the debate waxed warmer, and Mr Lyne was particularly warm, amidst ironical langhter, on the defence oE lecal interests.

41 About four bcxes. Previous to my taking them the pain in my head reduct- d me to such a state that I was on the verge of madness. The last three years I had been very bad, fo you can imagine, (he pleasure it was to me to find a remedy that hae actually made a new woman of me.'"'

"That is so," remarked Mr Ross, who was present-. " Had you seen my wife a few months since and now you would scarcely believe her to bo the same woman."

" Y««," rejoined Mrs Ross, "my recovery has been most pronounced and satisfactory to me. I have great faith in Dr Williama's P.lla for Pile People, and recommend them whereever passible."

Congratulating Mrs Ross on her recovery, aad exptt>B»ing a hope that she would los»g live to enjoy the blessings of good health, our reporter withdrew.
